Vehicle Description

This car is a true survivor! Late fifties and early sixties A-gas quarter mile car built by Gary Smith and Dean Ash. It was campaigned in California, Oregon, and Utah. It originally had a bored and stroked 413 that was out to 511 cubic inches with Hilborn injection. The front suspension is stock and the rear is quarter-elliptical with four foot ladder bars and a panhard bar. I have everything that was originally on this car including interior trim, four-point roll bar, and 8 inch three-spoke steering wheel. It has a one-piece fiberglass front end that needs some repair around the driver's side headlight. The passenger windshield and the passenger door window need to be replaced. I was building this car with the intent to drive it on the street and race it. The engine for the street is a single four-barrel Chrysler 392. This engine is completely rebuilt .30 over, 10:1 pistons, 220 degree cam, 475 lift, but it is hydraulic. Transmission for this engine is a Chevy turbo 350 with a stock stall convertor. The race engine is a KB aluminum block with billet steel heads that were flowed specifically for this engine. The cam, lifters, rocker arms, pushrods, crank, rods, pistons, are all new. This is a new engine. It is set up with a dry sump oil pan. The manifold is for an 8-71 blower. This is an alcohol engine. It is not included in the auction but can be had if you want this to be a serious nostalgia racer. For this engine the transmission is a BJ air-shifted transmission. The engine is currently being assembled by Strasburg Racing. The front tires and wheels are the originals from the fifties. The wheels are American magnesium wheels. The rear tires are Goodyear Blue Streaks. The rear end is a 8 and 3/4 Chrysler with a Strange spool and Strange axles. If you want the Hemi and the wedge or the wedge in place of the Hemi let me know and we can discuss this. I was building this car for drag racing
