Chassis Kit Car This is a late 50’s kit car made of fiberglass. It is believed to be from the “Old Pro Kit” by Taylor & Art Plastics, Inc. This was from a time when customizing cars was a hobby for many. This one is similar to the “Shark”, a Corvette product shown in the April 1960 Rod Builder Magazine. The “Shark” is a more refined job done in the 50’s at a California shop (Dahlstrom’s in Castro Valley by Bob McNulty). The “Shark” is now in a California museum. What is offered here is an amature attempt at a similar product on a Henry J or Kaiser chassis. It has a 100” wheelbase powered by a 6 Cyl. Kaiser Supersonic with a 3 speed transmission on the column. The car was found in a barn basically as is. We did start it, and it drives. Needs T.L.C. but what a find and what a car! Too unique |
Misc Comments: IT'S MADE OUT OF PAPER MACHE! Saturday Night Live once had a mock commercial for an economy car made of adobe (easy to maintain; easy to fix). This Playdoh car on eBay reminds me of that SNL car. My uncle had a car just like it. <<<<Yea Right>>>> This car was listed on ebay several times. sold on ebay? There was at least 1 Bid. Not sure if it sold. Classic Kit car ????????? |
